“Stop teasing the human, Solden,” the other one said.
“Your name is . . . ?”
“Turin,” he offered kindly.
“Thank you, Turin. My name is Goldie. Please use it,” she said with a formal smile and held out her hand for him to take it, which he did. But rather than shaking it, as she was accustomed to, he kissed the tip of each finger and then flicked his tongue against each pad of flesh.
It was enough to have her jolting sky-high.
“What are you doing?” she murmured breathlessly.
“Greeting you,” he said, confusion at her question written all over his face. He turned to look at Solden as if questioning her sanity.
“That's the ordinary way to greet someone on Sirius A?”
“Yes.” They both answered simultaneously.
Her brows rose at that, for the slight touch of his lips and the flick of his tongue against the, unbeknownst to her, highly sensitive area had been enough to have her hungry pussy begging for more!
Faeron returned. “The metal will be here on the morrow. Early.”
She was almost relieved at those words. “Thank you . . . ,” she said, stringing out the vowel sound since she didn't know his name either.
“Faeron,” Turin supplied helpfully.
“Thank you, Faeron. I really appreciate it. If one of you comes with me tomorrow I can repay you for your kindness.”
“That won't be necessary.”
“But please! I must insist,” she blurted out, taken aback by his more than generous offer.
“There is no need. Sirians help those in need. It is our moral duty.”
“There's no point arguing with him, Goldie,” Solden commented wryly.
“All right. Thank you. But, please, if there's any way I can repay you, just let me know.”
With a smirk, Solden once again rose on to his elbow. “Oh, we will. We will indeed.”
His remark earned him a glare from Faeron, who turned on his heel and looked at Goldie. “If you come with me, I'll take you to a sleeping chamber.”
“Spoilsport,” Solden called out as Goldie started to turn and follow the leader of the trio.
She was both anxious and relieved, which was a strange combination considering the position she was in.
She would have had to be a complete imbecile to not realize that Solden had been implying payment of a different nature, and, shame on her, she wasn't offended. She was relieved to be out of there without having succumbed to the clamors in her bodies but anxious as well. Her body was strumming with something, something that she had never before experienced, and it was almost . . . primal.
Whatever the hell it was, it was damned scary and meeting these three men had somehow awakened it.
With a grimace, she nodded at Faeron when he showed her into a sleeping chamber, as he called it, and swiftly departed. She went over to the bed, sat down on it, and bounced a little. It was very similar to Solden's mattress, so she could at least sleep on it.
She took in the simple decoration, whitewashed unformed walls, which were rustically and coarsely smoothed down. The natural furniture, which she was sure was constructed from wood, but this time it had been painted a strange green.
The switches, which she had come to realize were the givers of light, were beside her bed. So she lay down stiffly and then leaned over to send the room into darkness once more.
It took a while, but eventually she settled enough to relax, because while the implication had been clear, so was the definite sense of security-they would not touch her without her express permission, Faeron had been signaling that like a flashing light!
Goldie fell asleep once more.
* * * *
“What the hell do you think you were doing, Solden? Did you want her to think we would force her?” Faeron spat.
“I was only joking, Faeron. For fuck's sake, lighten up some, would you?”
“I think both of you guys should calm down. She'll hear and freak out.”
Although none of them said it, they were all thinking the same thing, they didn't want that to happen.
“You scented it too, right?” Solden asked Turin, lifting a hand to massage the back of his neck.
“Of course I did,” Turin replied with a faint guffaw.
Faeron rolled his eyes. “You two, you're like a couple of cubs. I scented it, as well, but we can't act on it. You both know that, right?”
Solden scowled. “Why the hell not? Have you often heard of Sirians turning their mates away?”
“She's human, not Sirian, there's the difference.”
“Fuck that. I'm six hundred years old. I've been waiting for my mate since I stopped being a cub and you want me to just say hi and bye? You can go fuck yourself, Faeron, because that's what you're condemning us to!”
“You want to trap her here? Is that it?”
“Trap? My ass!” Turin shrugged apologetically at Faeron, his eldest brother. “I'm sorry, Faeron, but, Solden, as unusual as I know this is, is right. We can't just let her go. We've all been waiting six hundred years and you just want to turn her out in the morning?”
“Well, not exactly, dammit. I felt it, too, so stop making me out to be the bad guy here!”
“You're making yourself out to be the bad guy. You don't need any help from us!”
“You're both forgetting that if we felt it then she must have felt it too. If it overtakes her like the mate bond does to shifters, then she'll come back.”
“Come back? Yeah, right. She crashed here by accident. She'll probably have some urges and go and fuck some other bastard. I'm not letting my mate leave here without my imprint, Faeron!” Solden shouted.
“Calm down, Solden,” Turin reprimanded.
“I won't calm the fuck down, Turin. Honestly, have you heard him?” He smacked his fingers against his thumb and lifted it in Faeron's face. “You've always been all talk. Let's go and do something about this.”
“If you want to ruin any chance we have, then you do that, Solden. Just don't blame me like you always do!” Faeron retorted.
“You're the fuck-up if you would actually allow our mate, the only one the Gods have blessed us with, to leave without having been imprinted with our souls? Are you fucking crazy?” Solden asked him angrily.
“I thought you were tired,” Turin commented wryly as he took in his brother's agitated movements.
Solden glared at him. “I was. But, you know, meeting a mate kind of gives you an adrenaline buzz?” He rolled his eyes but knew that Turin had taken the wind out of his sails. “Let me handle this, all right? Then maybe we won't lose her, and, like Faeron said, she'll return without our prompting.” He glanced at Faeron. “See, I do listen to you sometimes! I'll do the imprinting, and, then, if it goes wrong, you can blame me as usual. So don't act the martyr, I'm the one who is usually caned!”
Not waiting for a reply, he stalked out of his room and headed into the circular hallway that was a part of every Sirian home, for it represented the two suns of the planet that nourished them. He walked to the spare sleeping chamber and knocked gently on the door. When there was no reply, he opened the door slowly and stepped inside as quietly as possible.
“Goldie?” he whispered. He saw through the pitch black darkness that she sat up at the sound of his voice in a flash. She practically reeked of nervousness, enough to have his nose twitching with distaste. “There's no need to be frightened,” he assured her.
“Who said I'm frightened?” she retorted in a strong voice, although her insides quivered.
He grinned at her guts.
“Me, but that doesn't matter.”
“It doesn't?” she asked hesitantly.
He heard her fumble around and closed his eyes the instant her fingernails accidentally tapped the light switch and illumination once more flooded the room. Opening them, he looked at his sleep-rumpled mate and instantly felt his cock harden.
“What are you doing in here . . . Solden? Isn't it?”
> “Correct,” he said, feeling pleased that she'd recognized him. That was one of the first signs that a bond had taken root. Sirian shifters were born in multiple births and were exactly identical. Only mothers and fathers and mates could differentiate between a trio of shifters.
“What are you doing here?” she repeated the question, her voice a little more exasperated now.
He could sense that she was slightly less frightened. “I came to talk.”
She laughed quietly. “More like tease.”
“Tease?”
“Yeah, you know.”
“You think that was what I was doing?” he asked with a raised brow.
“Weren't you?”
He grinned and shook his head. “When I talked about mating . . . did that intrigue you?”
“Is that why you're here, to ask if I want to engage in a one night stand?” she asked in a curious voice.
“Maybe. If I did, would you want to?” he asked, taking a chance that the mate bond had worked on her faster than any of them had calculated.
She shrugged. “Do I look that easy to you?”
“Is that a trick question?”
Goldie laughed, and the sound was like music to his ears. “Look, I don't know what time it is, but I really do need to sleep. My day has been . . . well, it's been crazy, and I'm really tired.”
“Do you want me to massage your shoulders?” he said, part-teasing, part-serious.
She looked at him strangely. “No strings? Just a massage? You won't expect a blow job, will you?” she asked suspiciously.
“If a blow job is what I think it is, then I'll never say never.”
Goldie laughed again.
It was great that rather than be annoyed by his humor, as Faeron and Turin usually were, she found him amusing.
Her laughter faded and was replaced with a penetrating glance. “Can I trust you, Solden?”
He turned the question back around to her, because a shifter could do no harm to his mate. It went against every single molecule in his body to even contemplate doing her harm. “Do you think you can trust me?”
She shrugged, but her eyes were slightly wary. “I think I can, but I've never trusted easily. So it's strange to me that I feel as though I could trust you.”
“Well, I'd never do you any harm, so you don't have to worry about that.”
“That means I can accept a non-sexual massage from you?”
Solden grinned. “If you want to.”
“Oh, I want to! You have no idea what I've been through today!”
“Apart from crashing, you mean?” he asked and walked towards her, less hesitant now that he could touch her with her permission, even in an non-sexual kind of way.
She kicked her legs off the bed and sat up straight at the edge.
Solden climbed up behind her and then knelt so that his knees were touching the base of her spine. She was a lot shorter than him so it wasn't too difficult.
As he began to rub her shoulders and neck, she started to tell him about her day. “Some asshole decided to do the space version of aerobatics around my ship and it kind of led us into a shower of meteorites.”
“Us?”
“Sorry. It's really just me on board and Eve, my computer. I've been alone with her for so damned long that she's become an irritating friend rather than just an irritating circuit board.”
“Ah. I apologize for interrupting.”
Goldie waved a hand and then tilted her neck to the side, sighing with pleasure as she did so. “No worries. Well, Eve decided to take control, and, I don't know if you fly on Sirius, nut manual controls are always better than automatic. If you're an experienced pilot, then instinct will guide you to safety. Anyway, she completely locked me down and fucked up. Meteorites gathered in our engine, which led to engine failure. Your planet's gravitational pull dragged us in. So I've averted death almost four times today. Which I'm sure you'll agree is far too many times for any one person!”
“Oh, I definitely agree,” he replied and then rubbed the sinew on her shoulder between his thumb and index finger. “Does that feel good?”
“Yeah, it really does,” she murmured with a faint laugh, which was both filled with amusement and pleasure.
“How about this?” he asked as he bent down and pressed a kiss to the curve of her neck.
“I thought this was supposed to be non-sexual?”
Her voice wasn't angry. It definitely sounded more accepting to Solde, so he trailed his tongue along the line of her shoulders. “Don't you know? This is non-sexual.”
Goldie laughed, but it sounded suspiciously breathy to Solden.
“It is?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Wow. I like Sirius A.”
“I'm very glad you do,” he murmured and slid his hands down the sweep of her chest and over the mounds of her breasts. Cupping them slightly, he gently squeezed.
“And that isn't remotely carnal?”
He laughed. “Good word, but no, not here it isn't.”
His fingers slid to the zipper tab of her space suit and slowly he dragged the little zipper down over the curve of her breasts and the slight swell of her stomach and right down to the apex of her thighs where the thick material's row of teeth came to an end. He slipped his fingers inside the all-encompassing suit and then upwards until he reached the pert ends of her nipples. Tweaking them slightly, he concentrated on firming the peaks until small moans were escaping her throat.
So complete was his concentration, that when her hand slipped under the length of cloth that was tied around his waist and she cupped his cock from behind, he almost shot off the bed in surprise.
Her position was awkward and the movements she made weren't smooth, but the pressure of his mate's fingers about his cock, after having fucked so many other females to replace the ache for her in his lifetime, was almost enough to make him want to shoot his seed into her fist.
She pulled away from him, and, before he knew it, she'd shrugged out of her suit and the material was gathered about her feet and on the floor. She stood completely naked before him, the way the Gods had always meant for her to be, and he felt his heart start to pound slowly in his chest.
The graveness of this moment was near paralyzing, but he pushed through it and held out a hand for her, which she took.
Her body was a marvel, all smooth, rounded curves of succulent flesh that was his to adore and lavish with love. Her breasts were high and proud, large enough to fit into his hands, perfect for him. Everything about her was perfect for him. From her long red hair with blonde highlights that was still plaited but had tufts of hair escaping from its hold, to her eyes that were glinting-with-excitement green and sparkled as she looked at him. She was his as he was hers.
It was just a shame that she did not know that!
He grabbed her by the hips and lifted her on to the bed, moving out of the way so that she could lay flat upon the mattress and he could marvel over what was before him.
With the tip of his finger, he circled her nipple and then slid it down over her belly and to the fair thicket of hair at her cunt. His finger slid down between the folds of her sex. He smiled as she hissed when the digit slipped through the slick juices that her body had created for him.
“I thought we weren't going to have a one night stand?” she asked breathlessly.
“Do you want me to stop?” he asked with a cocked brow, his eyes focused on the slippery folds that were covered in her arousal.
“No,” Goldie murmured breathlessly, “take off the towel.”
“Towel?” Solden asked and then grinned when he realized what she was talking about. “You mean my ceremonial kuapenu?”
“Kuapenu? Yes! That!”
Slowly, Solden unfastened the knot at his hip with one hand, loath to leave her pussy for even a moment. When he'd finally untied it, he flung it to the floor at the side of her bed.
“Oh . . . my . . . God.”
“What?” he asked and watched her bl
ink before sitting up to stare even closer at his manhood.
“May I touch it again?”
“Please do,” he murmured silkily and sat back against the mattress, letting his hands support him and keep him upright.
“What are they? Why didn't I feel them?”
“Feel what?” Solden asked with a frown and then cupped his cock with his hand.
“Those things . . . .”
“What things?” he asked with a laugh.
“They're like . . . . hell, I don't know . . . spurs?”
She ran her fingers across the length of his cock in exploration.
His eyes fluttered shut at the sensation of extreme and unadulterated pleasure which shot right through him, which he felt certain penetrated his very marrow!
“They're a part of all Sirian male's sex.”
“What are they for?” she asked huskily before bending down and following her finger's path with her tongue.
“A deeper connection during mating,” he explained with a shudder as her tongue curved around the glans of his cock.
“They don't hurt?” Goldie asked, mumbling now.
“No. They just force a connection.”
“Force?”
“Mmm-Hmm,” Solden hummed and felt the bones and joints in his arms begin to boil and turn into molten lava. “Why don't I show you instead of telling you?”
